Discreetly straighten your smile with Invisalign
Avoid braces: get the discreet lifestyle friendly choice for straighter teeth
At Orthosmile Orthodontics in Newmarket, Aspley, Chermside and Bulimba we offer a number of discreet orthodontic treatments: lingual braces and Invisalign.
Lingual braces are bonded to the back side of your teeth so no one will see you’re getting orthodontic treatment. As far as treatment is concerned, lingual braces are similar to traditional metal braces.
Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that you change every two weeks to gradually straighten your teeth.
In our last blog article we talked about how in the last ten years there has been a dramatic increase in the number of adults getting orthodontic treatment. One of the more popular choices adults are opting for is Invisalign.
Treating adults and treating teenagers
There is not a great deal of difference between treating an adult with orthodontics and treating teenagers. Except that with most teenagers their jaws are still developing which makes moving teeth back to their optimal position easier and quicker. Once your jaws stop growing it is still possible to realign teeth but it can take longer.
With that being said, you’re never too old for orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign and what it can do for you
If you are looking for an orthodontic treatment that won’t impact your lifestyle than look no further than Invisalign. Invisalign can be removed allowing you to enjoy all your favourite food and drinks without worrying about the state of your braces.
The added advantage to Invisalign being removable is that you can brush and floss your teeth as normal. Which means fewer visits to the dentists.
It is, of course, important to note that you must brush your teeth before replacing the aligners. It is also necessary that you wear your Invisalign clear aligners as often as your dentist prescribes. Failure to comply could result in the treatment either taking longer or not being as effective as planned.
Typical length of treatment
You will visit Dr Daxter Yeo at Orthosmile Orthodontics once every six weeks to ensure that your treatment is going along as planned. Treatment time varies from patient to patient, depending on the condition of your teeth. Typically, treatment can last anywhere from six months to fourteen months.
